Besides the more "serious" tone of NY fashion, it is undeniable that black is the standard non-color we all seem to gravitate towards. I think it comes from that Audrey Hepburn vibe you instantly feel by popping on a black turtleneck with skinny jeans and booties, and the ease of knowing you'll match no matter what. This day was no exception: I could live in this black Aritzia sweater dress because of the coziness it provides without the sloppiness. I paired it with my trusty Vince booties (I basically live in these) and my LV neverfull- which is the perfect catch-all tote for the office.
