Every time I've sat down to write this blog post Liam Payne starts singing in my head "come and stripe that down for me-" wait that's not how the song goes?! All jokes aside, stripes are one of my absolute favorite patterns and it's embarrassing how many striped items I own.
Serendipitously, these photos were a perfect analogy to my current state of mind. We are all afraid of change- too little, too much, any extreme out of our comfort zone always throws us for a loop. Sometimes i think it's important to shed all of the surface concerns and go with your own gut. Sure, it's great to overthink things but when you strip away all of the opinions and potential pitfalls, we always know deep down exactly what's right. Lately, I've been finding myself questioning a lot of decisions in my life- it took me almost an entire year to find an apartment that felt like my new home- but when I walked into my new little light-filled studio I knew I could lay some roots here. Plus, I was able to dust off my favorite barstools from CB2. Sometimes we all need a little push forward but it's not to say we won't come out stronger and more confident with each step even if we falter.
This photoshoot caught the beauty and serenity of one of the most famous churches in NYC and I loved capturing the serene moments we create amidst the chaos of our everyday lives.
